“Sometimes it doesn’t matter how hard you try; it doesn’t mean you will make it, but it also doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give your all”
I’ve been trying to find words to describe how surreal this journey has been and how brutal the videogame industry can be. I joined Wildlight almost 3y ago, very small team but lots of passion. This time it’s been incredibly inspiring, trying to create something new with people you love working with with the prospect that you can continue doing so with the team you cherish. But life had other plans... Our industry has changed so much in more than 17y I’ve been in it, I’m not sure if I recognize it anymore.
We worked SO DAMN MUCH, I can’t even begin to tell you. Every single member of our team have gave so much of ourselves to this project but we were all together. Magic wasn’t living in our characters and our world, magic was living inside this team. I’ve never seen a group of people with this level of craftmanship and passion for what they do, everyday we were all waiting for art updates, animation drops, design ideas, music! it’s been absolutely amazing and despite of the outcome, I’d do everything again.
This is the saddest part, leaving this team behind. I wish we’ll get to cross paths together. We tried, we gave it all and every single one of us will continue to do so, because that’s what I saw in this people.
Passion can’t get killed, it can only be transformed into something new. ❤️
To Wildlight, thank you for this almost 3y of an insane ride.
To all the artists out there, what happened to Wildlight it is not an exception, we’ve seen in what the industry has become, being a developer is harder than ever but I wanna tell you, please keep doing what you love. Your art and passion will always remain yours.
I’ve been allowed by the company to share the content we were preparing for this year and also some of the development ideas that were discarded along the way. I’ll be dropping more stuff.
Let's look for a new adventure now.
